I first started playing music at home on an old record player. They were mostly 45 RPM. I remember buying 8-Track Tapes from a local DJ and the person I call "My Music Mentor"...his name was Bonner Dell Harris.
It was in 1978, when I joined the military (Air Force) and stationed at Blytheville Air Force Base, Arkansas. It was there that I began public DJing in 1979 at The Strato Club. This was an all enlisted rank club, game room and bar. Later on the place was relocated to a renovated building known as Kingsley Hall Recreation Center. This was now the New Strato Club. This picture below was my DJ Booth and I was DJing for five(5) until 1984.
